The new corporate facilities now provide uniform communications performance regardless of where you are in the facility and which room you are using. The service and maintenance requirements for all the conference rooms are more cost effective.
Often, when conference and collaboration rooms are not designed and installed as part of a unified plan, the results are inefficient and ineffective. The user experience can be unpredictable and frustrating, and maintenance can become increasingly expensive when breakdowns affect numerous different technologies. When faced with inconsistent legacy technology, we recommend standardization as a primary objective.
Challenge
A Multinational Conglomerate was moving its corporate headquarters from an urban center to a suburban campus. The communication technology in the new location was out-of-date, unreliable and varied from room to room. We were asked to work with the company’s real estate team to raise the quality of communications by establishing technology standards that could be implemented across the facility.

Design
Our first step was to analyze the size, shape and other critical environmental and operational considerations that could impact technology performance. Using this data, we designed each conference room to support the most commonly requested meeting configurations and provided an operational rendering of each space, detailing the technology specifications and functionality it would provide. Finally, we delivered detailed standards for every element of the communications system and a list of the manufacturers that could support the standards with reliable, high-quality audio and video technology.
Impact
The new corporate facilities now provide uniform communications performance regardless of where you are in the facility and which room you are using. The service and maintenance requirements for all the conference rooms are more cost effective given the efficiency of using consistent equipment manufacturers, product warranties and room configurations. Compared to the former system, user experiences have been positive with quality, reliability and system performance all cited as substantially improved.
